New 5 story building - concept

RECOMMENDATION: No objection to general concept design for the proposed 5-story building for the McDonough School of Business on the Georgetown University campus. Recommend further study of the east facade to integrate the atrium with the quadrangle space. File new submission of concept development drawings for review by the Commission when ready.

Harborside project / Embassy of Sweden
New building complex - permit

RECOMMENDATION: No objection to issuance of permit for proposed new building complex as shown in drawings received and dated 14 June 2004. The development known as the Harborside project includes the North office/residential Building and the House of Sweden/residential building on the south, facing the Potomac River Waterfront, and the underground parking connecting the two above ground structures. Recommend further study of the landscape plan in the central plaza between the two structures. Erect material sample panels on site with a southern exposure for review by the Commission prior to ordering of materials. Working drawings conform to approved concept. No signs were part of this permit application. A separate permit application for any sign must be submitted for review by the Commission when ready. See previous Recommendations (O.G. 04-31, O.G. 03-133 and O.G. 03-108). Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval.
