RECOMMENDATION: No objection to the issuance of permit for the installation of a decorative bracketed canopy over side door, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008. RECOMMENDATION: No objection to the issuance of permit for the exterior building renovations, the replacement windows, doors, and railings, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008. RECOMMENDATION: Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the proposed secondary metal security fence, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008. The proposed security fence with parallel paved walkway is not compatible with the existing character of the established landscape of the historic residential property and of the abutting National Park. Suggest that the new fence replace the existing chain link fence located at the perimeter of the property and that the new fence have straight-topped pickets, not curved, and that the metal fence is black in color. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

RECOMMENDATION: No objection to the issuance of permit for proposed new handicap ramp with a window to door conversion, and no objection to the issuance of a permit for the installation of a temporary loading dock in public space while the building complex is under renovation and construction, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval. RECOMMENDATION: No objection to the concept design for canvas awnings with 6 inch alternating blue and natural colored stripes and solid blue colored valances, some with white lettering, on the windows on the first two floors of the Pennsylvania Avenue facade and on the lower windows of the 14th Street facade, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008. RECOMMENDATION: No objection to the proposed concept designs for a new glass entrance vestibule at the F Street hotel entranceway and for a new glass-walled entrance vestibule in the F Street arcade for the office building entrance, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008.
