RECOMMENDATION: The Commission regrets that the windows in this historic building, one in a row of four with similar window detailing and profiles, were replaced prior to review or permit with insulated windows with simulated divided light muntins which are not compatible with the historic character of this residence and were disapproved (see O.G. 13–023). No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of the four windows on the front facade and two windows on side elevation with custom made single–glazed, double–hung, 6/6 true divided lite wood windows to replicate detailing, profile and trim of original windows at 3422 Reservoir Road as shown in supplemental drawings dated 18 June 2014. Recommend use of either exterior or interior storm windows, and of half–screens only, if desired. No objection to issuance of permit for proposed installation of operable louvered wood shutters sized to cover the window within the casing when closed, and re–using existing shutter dogs, where possible. Complete corrective work no later than 30 November 2014. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re–submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.
