In most cases, it will not be necessary for members of the public to invoke the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (Title 45, Code of Federal Regulations, chapter 21, part 2105) since the Commission routinely and promptly responds to informal requests from concerned citizens to review a wide variety of agency documents. The Commission makes every effort to post agendas for upcoming meetings and draft documents relevent to those meetings in a timely manner. Materials such as agendas, meeting minutes, recommendation letters and actions taken under the Shipstead-Luce and Old Georgetown Acts are available on this website, dating to October 2002.
Documents dated prior to October 2002 are readily available by contacting the Commission office. Depending on the information requested, Commission staff may be able to mail, fax, or electronically transmit the materials to you. In some cases, they will request that you come to the office to review the materials, and in some instances there may be a nominal charge for photocopying.

Commission staff evaluates all outside links using the following criteria:
No Fear Act
Section 301 of the Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002 (the No Fear Act, Public Law 107-174), requires each federal agency to post summary statistical data pertaining to complaints of employment discrimination filed against it by employees, former employees and applicants for employment under 29 C.F.R. Part 1614. The specific data to be posted is described in section 301(b) of the Act and 29 CFR 1614.704.
One complaint was filed against the Commission of Fine Arts during FY 2005 under the Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002 (the No Fear Act).
Pursuant to the Federal Activities Inventory Reform Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-270, FAIR Act) and in accordance with the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) FAIR Act Circular A-76 and other OMB guidance, the Commission of Fine Arts hereby makes available its inventory of employee functions that could be considered commercial in nature.
