DRAFT RECOMMENDATION: The Commission regrets that the striped awning with signs on the valance and end panels and the blade sign were installed prior to review or permit. Recommend against issuance of permit for existing awning and signs, which do not conform to the previously approved sign (see case OG 08–212). Striped awning, blade sign and signs on end panels of awnings are not appropriate to the character of the historic district. Remove existing awnings and signs no later than 30 June 2014.

The following list of projects will not require a presentation before the Old Georgetown Board and are recommended by the Commission of Fine Arts staff to the Board for approval without public review. Once adopted by the Old Georgetown Board, the recommendations will be submitted as part of the Old Georgetown Act Appendix to the next meeting of the Commission of Fine Arts. The concept or permit paperwork will be returned to the District government within five business days of the Commission’s meeting. Items may be removed from the Consent Calendar at the discretion of the OGB chairman; requests to review a particular case at the public meeting must be received by close of business on the Monday preceding the public meeting (or the next business day if Monday is a Federal holiday).
