Submission Requirements for Site Work

Replacement and New Walls, Fences, Stoops, Pools, Patios, Parking Pads, Lighting etc.:

Concept Application to include:

1. one set of current photographs that document existing conditions;
2. scaled and dimensioned site plan of the existing conditions, 2 copies;
3. scaled and dimensioned plans and elevations of the existing conditions, 2 copies;
4. scaled and dimensioned proposed plans, elevations, and sections, 2 copies;

Note: Upon receipt of the materials, CFA staff will determine if the project is to be reviewed under its jurisdiction or returned to HPO. The designated staff person will contact the applicant regarding the submission and also whether or not a public presentation will be required.

1. all requirements for concept drawings as further developed, 4 copies;
2. scaled and dimensioned foundation and architectural detail drawings of the proposed work, 4 copies;
3. manufacturer’s product specifications clearly indicating the proposed lighting, fencing, materials, etc., 4 copies;

Additional Guidance on Submission Requirements for Site Plans

The following information is provided to applicants to clarify requirements for documenting proposals for review by the Old Georgetown Board and Commission of Fine Arts. Note that site plan information is not intended to replace additional context information, such as aerial photographs, Baist maps, or block maps.

1. Applicable categories of when a site plan must be submitted:
New structures; additions; site work

2. Required site plan information:

a. Scope:
Subject property plus a minimum 10’ of immediately contiguous property and to front curb and rear alley indicated as applicable

b. Technical information indicated:
Property lines
Dimensions of subject property
Scale: 1/8” = 1’-0” or 1” = 10’
North orientation

c. Existing Conditions:
Existing structures: labeled, number of stories indicated, dimensions (use best estimate to document conditions on neighboring properties)
Significant landscape elements: fences, paved areas, retaining walls, walkways, trees greater than 8" dbh, water elements, etc.
Public space elements: curb, tree boxes, stoops and stairs, street furniture, alleys

d. Proposed Alterations:
New structures, additions, and site work: labeled, number of stories, dimensions to existing structures and property lines indicated

3. Process:
Site plan required with all submission materials
Determination of completeness by CFA staff
If complete site plan is not included:
– Concept submissions: case will not be included on public review agenda and will be postponed until complete site plan provided
– Permit submissions: case disapproved on basis of incomplete submission
