28 May 2010 Dear Ms. Dubas: In its meeting of 20 May, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed the final design for a seasonal awning on the sixth-floor terrace of the American Pharmacists Association building at 2215 Constitution Avenue, NW (case number SL 10-091). In their discussion, the Commission members expressed appreciation for the efforts to minimize the visual impact of the awning. In accordance with the representation made by the applicant, the Commission approved the design for installation only during the months from April through October, with the awning and its supporting structure to be removed in their entirety for the other months of the year, and with the vertical enclosures to be installed only when events on the terrace are taking place. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions. Sincerely, Thomas E. Luebke, AIA Ann Dubas cc: Graham Davidson, Hartman-Cox Architects Last Modified: June 9, 2010
