Submission Requirements for Concept Review of Signs for Old Georgetown Projects

All exterior signs are subject to OGB/CFA design review, as well as all interior signs less than 18 inches from any exterior glazing OR containing writing or images clearly legible from property other than the property on which the sign is located.  In addition, these signs must comply with specific sign regulations for the Old Georgetown historic district in Chapter 12 A, Appendix N of the D.C. Construction Code (click on "View Text").

A complete concept review submission for signs includes, in addition to the basic requirements for a concept review submission, the following documents:

  • current photographs documenting existing conditions
  • scaled and dimensioned site plans, building plans, and building elevations, indicating the location, size, mounting method, and lighting method of all proposed signs, including awnings and window graphics
