Submission Requirements for Permit Review of Signs for Old Georgetown Projects

All exterior signs are subject to OGB/CFA design review, as well as all interior signs less than 18 inches from any exterior glazing OR containing writing or images clearly legible from property other than the property on which the sign is located. In addition, these signs must comply with specific sign regulations for the Old Georgetown historic district in Chapter 12 A, Appendix N of the D.C. Construction Code (click on "View Text").

A complete permit review submission for signs includes, in addition to the basic requirements for a permit review submission, the following documents:

  • all requirements for concept review as further developed
  • scaled and dimensioned detail drawings of proposed signs, including mounting and lighting details
