Dear Ms. Gomez:
In its meeting of 15 July, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the revised concept design for a new Naval Systems Management Activity (NSMA) administrative facility and warehouse to be located at Thomas Road and Brookley Avenue, SW, within the Anacostia Naval Station.
In their discussion, the Commission members noted that the massing and composition of the building was much improved, particularly in the articulation of the interlocking building volumes. They also expressed appreciation for the presentation of precedents among large windowless buildings and commended the design team for its thorough study of this building typology.
The Commission looks forward to review of the final submission. As always, the staff is available to assist you.
