Dear Mr. McGill:
During its meeting 17 February 2005, the Commission reviewed and approved the concept design for the proposed modernization of the General Services Administration headquarters building located at 1800 F Street, NW. The scope of the project includes infill additions between the wings and alterations to the south facade of the building for a major new entrance.
The concept design by Shalom Baranes was well received and considered to be the right approach in dealing with the historic building. We understand the design work will continue to progress, and we look forward to the next review at an opportune time during the project's development. As always, the staff is available to assist you.
