Dear Ms. Boles:
During its meeting of 25 January 2005, the Commission reviewed and approved the concept design for the interim parking lot and associated landscape on the former convention center site, bounded by 9th, 11th and H Streets and New York Avenue. The Commission is encouraged by the whimsical design and suggests greater emphasis be placed on the art banners, including the development of a program to encourage the creation of new designs for the banners that could be periodically changed or rotated for additional interest.
The Commission is encouraged by this exciting design and looks forward to reviewing further developments as the project progresses. Please coordinate with the staff to schedule a site visit to review mockups of proposed color schemes for the lot’s pavement.
