Letter

Dear Mr. Lucas:

In the meeting of 27 July, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed the final design for the odor control facility and restrooms near Fletcher's Boathouse along the C & O Canal. The Commission reiterated the concerns expressed during the previous presentation concerning the appropriateness of the design for its setting in a national park, with the continued suggestion to reorient the roof's ridge line. They further requested that all drawings be coordinated accurately to represent the proposed scheme.

The Commission looks forward to the resubmission of the project for further review and requested that your design team work with the staff to develop a more successful design that meets the needs of the facility while respecting the important context of the C & O Canal.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
