Dear Ambassador Al-Mughairy:
In its meeting of 21 April, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed the concept design for site modifications and an addition to the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman at 2535 Belmont Road, NW (case number SL 11-084). The Commission approved the proposed concept for an office building of residential scale and proportions, connected by an underground addition to the existing embassy building, and commented that the design is respectful of the setting adjacent to the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway.
The Commission looks forward to the review of the final design. The staff is available to assist you with the next submission.
