No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of jamb liners re-using existing wood sashes with new insulated glass to make windows operable as shown in supplemental drawings dated 26 January 2009. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

The Commission regrets that various signs were installed without review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for proposed sign composed of red and green pin-mounted non-illuminated letters reading 'Ice Berry' on fascia of M Street storefront ONLY as shown in supplemental drawings dated 18 February 2009. Sign on 30th St. window, LED back-lighting and awnings, which were not approved, were deleted from this permit application. Existing signs, blade signs, brackets, neon sign behind the glass, and light fixtures with exposed conduits on facades of this individually designated historic landmark building are not appropriate and must be removed no later than 31 March 2009. Note is made that the Foundation for the Preservation of Historic Georgetown holds an easement on this property. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for plate glass doors and window alterations with steel frames and 2'x 8'banner (2'-10" bracket) at corner of the building, to read 'Yves Delorme' with 9 1/2" lettering, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 10 February 2009. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to storefront as shown in supplemental drawings dated 13 February 2009 which indicate Option B with metal louvers located at end panel of storefront to match existing elsewhere within courtyard and additional space behind glass panel. Partition wall behind storefront system facing courtyard, which was not approved was deleted from this application. No objection to issuance of permit for proposed root top mechanical equipment PROVIDED it is not visible from public thoroughfare. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed back-lit sign composed of 12-inch high lettering reading 'Pharmacy' with logos as shown in supplemental drawings dated 22 January 2009. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed sign scheme, including two 1'-4" high sign panels on transoms, lettering no larger than 3 inches high on center windows and logo on entry door as shown in Alternate #2 of supplemental drawings dated 27 January 2009. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed rooftop mechanical equipment as shown in supplemental drawings dated 17 February 2009 PROVIDED it is located as to not be visible from O Street. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for new stone stoop with metal railings at front entrance, 12-light wood door at 1940s addition, and brick/wood pergola and pool at rear as shown in drawings dated 28 January 2009. Recommend stone treads at historic garden gate to be repaired and maintained and smaller light fixtures. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of wood siding with cedar siding as shown in supplemental drawings dated 10 February 2009. Existing cornice and single glazed true-divided-lite wood windows will be retained and repaired. Replacement windows were not approved and were removed from this permit application. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed steel replacement windows as shown in supplemental drawings dated 23 January 2009. Returned without Action. Submitted materials and a site visit of 23 January 2009indicate that proposed alterations to window openings for French doors and balconies at rear facade will not be visible from public thoroughfare. Refer to the Historic Preservation review Board.

No objection to concept design for proposed alterations, including rear 2-story and dormer addition as shown in supplemental drawings dated 10 February 2009 which indicate reduced railing at roof deck. Recommend a six-panel replacement front door, retention of colonial garage door and relocation of electric meter to interior. File new submission of working drawings, including details and dimensions, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.
