Draft Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 21 October 2021

No objection to the final plans for modifications and repairs to the West Building of the National Gallery of Art that include: the re-roofing of the non-skylight portions of the roof; the repair of the exterior masonry of the northwest, southwest, and southeast quadrants of the building and its south portico; the replacement of the interior and exterior vestibule doors of the building's Mall entrance; and the rehabilitation of the southwest corner of the building grounds, as shown in materials received and dated 7 October 2021. No objection to the concept design for a new, larger public restroom facility to replace the existing inadequate facility that serves the Lorraine American Cemetery in Saint-Avold, France, as shown in materials received and dated 6 October 2021.

No objection to the proposed revisions to the previously approved final design submitted by the Smithsonian Institution for supplemental perimeter fencing at the National Zoological Park at 3001 Connecticut Avenue, as shown in materials dated 7 October 2021. The revisions include the relocation and narrowing of the sliding service gate, #15, in Section 8 of the fencing at the lower Zoo inboard from the intersection with North Road, and adjustments to reconfigure a portion of the adjacent pedestrian pathway to improve pedestrian safety. No objection to the concept design for a new bridge to replace the existing H Street Bridge over the rail tracks north of Union Station, as shown in materials received and dated 6 October 2021. The phased project would reconstruct the existing H Street Bridge (Hopscotch Bridge), which was constructed in 1977 and spans 1,442 feet over 1st and 2nd Streets, NE, and the WMATA and Amtrak rail line tracks and platforms. No objection to the final design for the modernization of and alterations to the Wilkinson Elementary School (currently the D.C. Infrastructure Academy), for the D.C. Preparatory Academy Public Charter School, as shown in materials received and dated 7 October 2021. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final design for the renovation and modernization of the historic Old Randle Highlands Elementary School building, as shown in materials received and dated 7 October 2021. Project includes the addition of a new entrance pavilion on the north facade of the building, an ADA ramp, a covered walkway to the adjacent school building, new playground areas, and a new rooftop equipment enclosure.
