No objection to concept design for proposed new four-story building with penthouse and demolition of extant, non-contributing structure at 3255 Prospect Street as shown in drawings dated 16 February 2007. Recommend removal of elevator override and stair to roof. File new submission of working drawings, including details and dimensions, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for proposed two-story rear in-fill addition as drawings are not sufficient to determine scope of work.

No objection to concept design for proposed window repairs and alterations, and no objection to general concept of raising the roof for an addition to the existing garage, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 15 February 2007. Recommend further study of garage roof and parapet. Note: Because the permit application will require Board of Zoning Adjustment approval any subsequent modifications to the approved general concept design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval. File new submission of working drawings, including details and dimensions, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for wood, double-hung replacement windows for porch, dormers, kitchen, and basement as per supplemental drawings dated 8 March 2007.

Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for the replacement of existing windows. Repair windows per D.C. Historic Preservation Office guidelines.

No objection to issuance of permit for rear addition, dormer and site alterations as shown in supplemental drawings dated 20 February 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed metal window and door alterations as shown in supplemental drawings dated 8 March 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of Building Permit and Public Space Permit to remove existing brick stair and install new cast iron stair comprised of salvaged and new parts to match adjacent front stairs, as proposed. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

The Commission regrets that work was completed prior to review or permit. No objection to issuance of permit for champagne-color ATM surround and header with white letters/logo only; to read 'Bank of America' as shown in Option B. This permit does not allow for any enlargement of the masonry opening. Work must be completed no later than 30 June 2007. Note: Because the application is pending final zoning review, any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of building and public space permits for new 42" high wood gate and fence provided no lattice is on top. No objection to issuance of permit to remove concrete roof tiles and metal roof and install Buckingham slates and flat-seam copper as proposed. No objection to general concept design for proposed rear first floor addition and for second story polygonal bay as shown in supplemental drawings dated 1 March 2007. Recommend further study of slope on the roof of the addition. File new submission of working drawings, including details and dimensions, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for repairing existing siding on the south side of the ell, the rear of the ell, and the north wall. Replace non-salvageable wood with 3/4" thick wood siding, 5 1/2" exposure, profile to match existing.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed revisions to permit for pool house in rear yard. See previous Recommendation (OG 06-211). Recommend both sides of masonry garden wall be faced in stucco. The Commission regrets that work in the rear terrace was initiated prior to review and without a permit. Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval.
