Recommend AGAINST the issuance of permit for proposed renovation of windows as shown in drawings received and dated 3 December 2004 as the suggested reconfiguration is inappropriate to the design of the building. Recommend interior adjustment to allow for access to window display. Suggest changeable displays and the incorporation of merchandise rather than the obstruction of storefront windows with photographs which is inappropriate to the streetscape and detrimental to the pedestrian experience. In addition, advertising on canopies should be restricted to the name of the business only and not include services rendered.
