Dear Mr. McGill:

During its last meeting of 15 September, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the final plans for the second phase of the modernization and renovation of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Included in that approval are the plans for the installation of scissor-lift loading platforms in the two driveways on the 17th Street side of the building to facilitate the loading and unloading of large delivery trucks that will not clear the portals leading to the building’s courtyards. The Commission members understand that these temporary lifts will be in place until other more discreet means to accommodate deliveries to the building, and possibly the entire executive complex, can be developed in the future.

As always, the Commission staff is available should you require further guidance.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
