Dear Col. Peeples:
In its meeting of 17 May, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the final design submission for a new security fence for Joint Base Myer–Henderson Hall along its boundary with Arlington National Cemetery. The Commission members expressed appreciation for the clear presentation and for the revisions to the concept design. As part of this approval, they recommended that replacement trees be of the same species or similar to those in the immediate vicinity.
Consistent with the Commission’s previous approval of the concept design, this action is subject to the inspection of a mockup of a segment of the fence by the staff to complete the final review. The Commission looks forward to the completion of this review by the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.
