Letter

Dear Mr. McGill:

In its meeting of 18 October, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the final design for security improvements at the Department of Homeland Security’s Nebraska Avenue Complex in northwest Washington. The Commission members appreciated the design team’s efforts to address concerns about the visual character of the perimeter fence and to limit the use of non-climbable fencing.

The Commission reiterates the request that the General Services Administration (GSA) use its authority more emphatically to continue the development and promotion of sensitive and innovative solutions to the design of security elements and looks forward to working with GSA in these endeavors. As always, the staff is available to assist you.

Sincerely,

/s/
