Dear Mr. Gittens:
In the last meeting of 19 January, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the concept for the "Starburst Intersection: Cornerstones of History" mural by Steven Weitzman to be located in the new plaza at the intersections of H and 15th Streets, Bladensburg and Benning Roads, and Maryland Avenue, NE. The Commission members requested that the artwork be coordinated with the fountains and handrails of the larger plaza design and looks forward to a joint presentation with the District Department of Transportation for the final review of the entire Starburst Intersection project.
Please submit for final review when ready. As always, the Commission staff is available should you require further assistance.
