Letter

Dear Mr. Floyd:

In the meeting of 19 October, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the proposed revisions to the concept for the National Law Enforcement Museum, subject to further study of the configuration of the E Street sidewalk and curb line.

The Commission members noted that perimeter security for the adjacent D.C. Courts was not included in this submission and they requested that this be addressed soon so that security elements could be integrated into the overall design of the project. The members were particularly concerned that a future proposal for the E Street sidewalk could result in an awkward configuration at the proposed drop-off bays and could hinder pedestrian circulation. The Commission requested that the design team continue its efforts to coordinate security issues with the D.C. Courts.

As always, the Commission staff is available should you require further guidance.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
