Dear Mr. McGill:

During its meeting of 21 July 2005, the Commission approved the design of the freestanding exterior building identification signs for the Veterans Affairs Building at 810 Vermont Avenue, NW, at a height of eight feet and in the bronze finish metal with incised lettering as presented at the meeting. We understand that this will be the first installation for the First Impressions Sign Program initiative to replace exterior signs at most federal facilities in the National Capital Region. As future installations are scheduled, we ask that you submit their design and proposed locations to the staff for our delegated approvals. The Commission staff is available should you require further guidance or assistance.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
