Recommendation
The Commission regrets that work was initiated prior to review and without a permit. Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for existing Pella 6/6 replacement windows which are not appropriate for this historic building and must be replaced with 1/1 wood sashes in the original frames with retention of existing scroll work at heads of windows and brick mold. No objection to reframing windows on new window openings on side facade to match detailing of original windows on front facade. No objection to issuance of permit for two new basement window openings at front bay to match existing window with security grilles. File new submission of detailed drawings for wood 1/1 replacement sashes with new permit application no later than 16 August 2007 for review by the Commission at the September meetings.
