Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the proposed secondary metal security fence, as shown in materials received and dated 6 June 2008. The proposed security fence with parallel paved walkway is not compatible with the existing character of the established landscape of the historic residential property and of the abutting National Park. Suggest that the new fence replace the existing chain link fence located at the perimeter of the property and that the new fence have straight-topped pickets, not curved, and that the metal fence is black in color. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.
