Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 17 July 2014

No objection to the final plans for the installation of a building identification sign on the northwest corner of the museum (Area B), as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2014. The proposed sign conforms with previously approved concept design.

No objection to the concept design for additions and modifications to the Great Ape House for the installation of a smoke control system, as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2013.

No objection to the final plans for the installation of three (3) cellular communications antennas and associated equipment, as shown in materials received and dated 30 June 2014.

No objection to the final plans for a temporary landscaped walkway along Sycamore Drive from the Congress Heights Metro Station to the Gateway Pavilion, as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2014. Proposal includes the installation of the proposed public art installation, "Wishing on Stars," by artist Sheila Crider which was approved in concept by the Commission in its meeting of 17 April 2014 (see case numbers CFA 17/APR/14-7 and CFA 17/JUL/14-e).

No objection to the final plans for the temporary installation of a public art work titled "Wishing on Stars," by artist Sheila Crider, as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2014. The installation will be coordinated with the temporary walkway along Sycamore Drive as proposed in case number CFA 17/JUL/14-d. Conforms to previously approved concept design.

No objection to the final plans for the renovation and first–phase addition to Powell Elementary School, as shown in materials received and dated 20 June 2014. Design conforms to previously approved concept.

No objection to the concept design for the renovation, and alterations to the unused Young Elementary School building for the Two Rivers Public Charter School, as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2014.

No objection to the final plans for the building rehabilitation proposed in the Phase I Modernization project for the Stanton Elementary School, which includes an interim installation of rooftop mechanical equipment as shown in materials received and dated 14 July 2014. It is understood that as part of Phase II, the rooftop mechanical equipment may be relocated and will be screened.

No objection to the final plans for site work, including alterations to the playground and ADA ramp, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 9 July 2014 which indicate replication of ornate posts of historic fence in the park at new iron fence, provided that new concrete pavers have a contrasting color to the brick pavers, and that playground equipment is limited to a range of earth–tone colors. Erect a material sample panel for the stone walls for approval by the Old Georgetown Board prior to ordering materials. Project reviewed by the Old Georgetown Board at its 3 July 2014, 5 June 2014 and 7 November 2013 meetings.

No objection to the final plans for the installation of a summer garden with outdoor seating at Tenant Space 170 at the Boilermaker Building, as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2014. (Submitted under case number SL 14-131.) Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.
