No objection to issuance of permit for proposed reconstruction / addition of a 12-foot deep two-story porch at rear, partially enclosed at lower level, as shown in supplemental drawings received and dated 1 December 2005. Working drawings conform to approved concept. See previous Recommendation (OG 04-278). Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval. See letter from Mr. Bill Crews, Zoning Administrator.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of casement windows on the White-Gravenor Building with aluminum casement windows manufactured by EFCO Corp. as shown in mock-up installation reviewed on 18 November 2005.

No objection to concept design for 1-story addition to in-fill front court as proposed in option with full excavated basement as shown in supplemental drawings received and dated 17 November 2005. Recommend further study of alignment of front wall with adjacent frame structure, reduction of overhang projection and removal of dormers. File new submission of working drawings, including dimensions, details and material samples, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to roof terrace and landscape plan in coordination with roof waterproofing work. Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed replacement of existing tin mansard roof and panels under the windows with 16 oz copper. Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for covering of the concrete beam with copper as proposed. Recommend further study of installation of a gutter system to cover the beam. File new submission of working drawings, including dimensions and details for gutter system and installation, with new permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

Returned without Action. Submitted materials and a site visit of 18 November 2005 indicate that major impact of proposed work will be to the rear with limited visibility from public thoroughfare. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to concept design for proposed alterations to storefront PROVIDED sign letters are no taller than 12-inches high. File new submission of working drawings, including dimensions and details, with permit application for review by the Commission no later than 31 March 2006. The Commission regrets previous alterations to the storefront were completed prior to review and without a permit.

Returned without Action. Submitted materials and a site visit of 17 October 2005 in coordination with previous application indicate that proposed replacement shed and new arbor and flagstone terrace in rear yard will not be visible from public thoroughfare. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to penthouse terrace at Washington Harbour, including removal of brick arches and reconstruction of parapet wall. Working drawings conform to second option discussed during concept review and approval. See previous Recommendation (OG 05-299).

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed side addition, alterations and rear roof terrace at second floor level. Working drawings conform, with minor revisions, to approved concept. See previous Recommendation (OG 05-211). No objection to the installation of vinyl railing system in this 1958 building due to its location and the limited impact on the historic district. Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations to Visitation Monastery, including replacement windows, removal of projection bay on West facade, and other mechanical and repair work. Alterations to existing out-building (smoke house) for new chiller enclosure, which were not approved, have been deleted from this permit application. Note is made that permit application is pending review by the Board of Zoning Adjustment. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval. File new submission of working drawings, including details and dimensions, for revisions to alterations to smoke house for chiller enclosure, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to proposed concept design for two-story 20-feet deep rear addition; new basement windows, door and entry steps in front; and removal of front porch as shown in supplemental drawings received and dated 18 November 2005. File new submission of working drawings, including details and dimensions, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed alterations, including addition of third floor behind mansard roof, alterations to front facade for new window openings, new basement entrance at front and alterations to rear facade, as shown in supplemental drawings received and dated 16 December 2005 which indicate removal of chimney and alignment of basement openings with windows above. Working drawings respond to the recommendations given during concept review (OG 05-296). Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval.

No objection to alterations to storefront, Sunbrella fabric awning, and sign scheme composed of letters no taller than 12-inches high reading 'Lucy' on slope of awning, plaque on brick pier, and vinyl letters no taller than 5-inches high on storefront windows and doors as shown in supplemental drawings received and dated 13 December 2005. Note is made that permit application is pending final zoning review. Any modifications to the approved design as a result of further review in the permit process must be submitted to the Commission for approval.
