Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the installation of an entrance canopy for Plan B Burger, as shown in materials received and dated 10 March 2015. The projecting restaurant canopy is not consistent with the treatment of the storefronts for the portions of Market Square facing the Navy Memorial and is not appropriate. Recommend that if commercial canopies are desired for this building, the building owner develop a unified proposal for the complex as a whole for review by CFA, NCPC, HPO, and NPS. Note also that planters, umbrellas, seating, and awning modifications shown in the submitted drawings are not included in the submitted scope of work; forward a separate submission for this work when ready. No objection to the issuance of a permit for the removal of a portion of stone site wall to create a new opening, and for the installation of a new metal gate in this opening, as shown in materials received and dated 6 March 2015. No objection to the issuance of a permit for modifications to an existing multi-family residence, including replacement windows; new window openings; a new canopy, storefront, and wall cladding at the main entrance; and new terrace dividers at the rear of the building, as shown in materials received and dated 6 March 2015. No objection to the concept for a rear addition to and renovation of an existing house, including replacement windows, as shown in materials received and dated 6 March 2015. No objection to the issuance of a permit for modifications to the rear facade of an existing house, including the removal of an existing wooden deck and the construction of a one-story rear addition with a terrace above, as shown in materials received and dated 6 March 2015.
