Letter

Dear Dr. Bunch:

The staff of the Commission of Fine Arts has reviewed the final construction documents and material selections for the revised roof design for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, now under construction at Constitution Avenue and 14th Street, NW. The final design conforms with the previous recommendations of the Commission and the staff has no objections to the design for the roof of the new museum as submitted.

With the authority delegated by the Commission at its meeting of 18 April 2013, we approve the final plans and the material selections for the roof, as documented in the drawings and materials received and dated 31 January 2014. If there are any additional changes please contact the staff to determine if additional review will be required. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
