Letter

Dear Ms. Hall:

In its public meeting of 21 April conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the final design for a new park space to be created by the reconfigured intersection of Pennsylvania and Potomac Avenues with 14th Street, SE, along Pennsylvania Avenue’s radial approach to the U.S. Capitol. The second option for the barrier-free ramps at the outer curb is the most consistent with the Commission’s previous advice to minimize obstructions to pedestrian circulation.

The Commission looks forward to the completion of this important new public space along Pennsylvania Avenue in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
