The Commission regrets that the 2-story rear addition and basement extension into the rear yard was completed prior to review or permit. Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for two-story rear addition and extension of basement which, as completed, are not appropriate to this historic building and are out of character with the immediate context in the historic district. Recommend development of a concept design for a one-story rear addition of wood construction to resemble an enclosed porch similar to the rear addition at the adjacent property at 1656 33rd St.
