No objection to the final design for the renovation of the Andrew W. Mellon Memorial Fountain, the repair of the surrounding plaza, and the relocation of the accessibility ramp, including new site and fountain lighting, as shown in materials received and dated 20 April 2016. No objection to the final designs for the renovation and additions to the police station and the construction of a new events/restroom pavilion at the National Zoological Park, as shown in materials received and dated 5 May 2016. The submission conforms to previously approved concept design. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the proposed infrastructure modifications at the Pentagon Transit Center that includes removable temporary ornamental fencing at the inner walkways leading to the Pentagon entrance, as shown in materials received and dated 5 May 2016. Recommend simplifying the design of the fence by eliminating the small oval decorative feature between the top rails of the fence.

No objection to the final design for the reconstruction of the Monroe Street Bridge to replace the existing three-span concrete deck structure with a similar steel structure on the existing abutments and piers, as shown in materials received and dated 27 April 2016. It is understood that the public art installation on the pedestrian safety fencing will be reinstalled on the new safety fencing once the reconstruction work is completed.

No objection to the final design for a new fire station for Engine Company No. 22, as shown in materials received and dated 5 May 2016. The final design conforms to the Commission's previous recommendations.

No objection to the final design for the renovation, alterations, and additions to the Watkins Elementary School, as shown in materials received a dated 5 May 2016. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final design for the temporary installation of four groups of ten modular classrooms and a modular cafeteria/gym on the sports field at the southwest corner of the University of the District of Columbia campus to provide swing space for Murch Elementary School, as shown in materials received and dated 9 May 2016. It is understood that this installation will be in place approximately two years for the duration of the project to renovate and expand Murch Elementary School, and that the modular structures will be removed and the sports field restored when the Murch Elementary School project is completed. No objection to the size and shape of the proposed sign for "California Tortilla," a retail tenant in the main headquarters building of the General Services Administration, as shown in materials received and dated 5 May 2016, PROVIDED that the sign is not an internally illuminated acrylic-faced box, but rather with backlit letters similar to the existing "Greenberry's" tenant sign, and PROVIDED that it conform with the sign requirements for the Shipstead-Luce Act area, and pending the receipt of revised drawings.
