No objection to final design for the Canal Road Slope Stabilization (CSO-029), per materials received 15 May 2025, which indicate an approximately 300-by-30-foot section of slope north of Canal Road, NW, and south of Georgetown University's Canal Road, NW, entrance would be cleared and covered by a wire mesh to help prevent rocks and debris from falling down the incline. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to final design for road sign repair and replacement along Interstate 395 (I-395) and U.S. Route 1 (US 1), per materials received 5 June 2025. Scope of work includes removal and replacement of 3 existing sign structures along Interstate I-395 and US 1, and repair of 4 existing sign structures along I-395. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to concept design for rehabilitation of an existing service road for pedestrian use, per materials received 5 June 2025. Scope of work includes roadway resurfacing; installation of stormwater management infrastructure; preservation of all existing trees and planting of 12 new trees; and installation of new site furnishings that are consistent with National Park Service standards for the National Mall. No objection to final design for revised siting of two temporary art installations, "Living Lantern" and "C/C," per materials received 5 June 2025, in order to avoid adverse effects on Connecticut Avenue viewshed. Temporary installation period is not to exceed six months, per submission materials.

No objection to concept design for modifications to existing superintendent quarters, per materials received 5 June 2025. Scope of work includes interior renovations and reconstruction of the original sloped tile roof with dormer windows.

No objection to concept design for comprehensive wayfinding design guidelines for the St. Elizabeths East District, per materials received 5 June 2025. Wayfinding sign typologies includes highway signs, vehicular gateway signs, directional landmark signs, street signs, and kiosks. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to concept design for replacement of existing c.1965 electrical substation near fenceline at Hawthorne Street, NW, per materials received 5 June 2025. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to concept design for construction of a new staircase and pathway at Science Hill, per materials received 5 June 2025. Project is intended to create a safe pedestrian route through a wooded area for staff to access Blue Road and the main Zoo campus from Science Hill. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to final design for construction of a one-story addition to Building 53, per materials received 5 June 2025.

No objection to concept design for installation of new fencing along the sidewalk leading to the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, per materials received 5 June 2025, PROVIDED renderings of the proposed fencing are developed as part of the final submission. Scope of work includes the installation of ~600 feet of fencing to connect to existing fencing that was approved as part of CFA 21/JAN/21-d, a larger stormwater management and security project east of the Corridor 5 Gate. New fencing is consistent with installation design guidelines. The Commission also requests the most current "Pentagon Reservation Master Plan" be submitted for review. No objection to concept design for new building signage, per materials received 5 June 2025. Scope of work includes removal of original 15" pin-mounted bronze letters on west facade frieze reading "INDUSTRIAL COLLEGE OF THE ARMED FORCES" and replacement with new 15" pin-mounted bronze letters reading "DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER SCHOOL" in same location. Materials indicate that disused mounting holes in the limestone will be repaired and the original letters will be reinstalled inside the building. No objection to final design for modifications to existing cellular antenna array, per materials received 5 June 2025. Scope of work includes exchanging one existing small cell antenna with one new mmWave antenna on an existing pipe mount at Sector 4; the total antenna count would be unchanged. The new antennas would be painted to match the building facade.
