Recommendation
No objection to the issuance of a permit for the structural stabilization of portions of the facades of an existing building in anticipation of a separately permitted renovation and addition project, including the construction of drilled caissons in public space, as shown in materials received and dated 8 May 2020 and supplemental materials received and dated 14 May 2020 and 18 May 2020. Recommend that canopy pruning of the gingko tree on G Street be kept to a minimum, and that the location of any large roots in its critical root zone be determined prior to the final location of the adjacent caissons. No selective demolition, except that narrowly required by the stabilization project, is included in this submission. Refer to DC Public Space Committee. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.
