No objection to concept design for the construction of a new two-story single-family detached residence, per supplemental materials received 6 May 2025, PROVIDED the applicant improve the entry gate and fence designs as part of the permit application to be more compatible with the character of the decorative metalwork in the Georgetown Historic District and the applicant study the first floor ganged windows on the facade and consider raising the sills and narrowing the openings. File permit submission at DOB with detailed and dimensioned drawings for review by the Commission.

No objection to concept design for new rear addition, new side enclosed porch, and associated site work, per supplemental materials received 22 May 2025, PROVIDED Option 5 is used in the final design, the side window at the second floor of the rear addition is 6/6 to match the first floor, the flower boxes are removed and bead board is installed on the rear elevation to match elsewhere, and all bead board is inset in panels, including that at the side porch enclosure. Note that flower boxes may be included, but they must be additive. File permit submission at DOB with detailed and dimensioned drawings for review by the Commission.

No objection to issuance of permit to construct a second floor frame addition on the existing one-story west wing of the building and interior renovation, per supplemental materials received __ June 2025. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

Returned without action. Permit application for the replacement of doors and windows on the facade was withdrawn at the written request of the applicant on 15 May 2025.

No objection to issuance of permit to replace the roofing with slate tiles on three sides of the turret, the mansard roof, and the dormer roof; replace the flat roof with copper roof panels; replace the flashing with copper; and replace the bubble skylight with a flat aluminum-frame Velux skylight, per supplemental materials received 13 May 2025. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for installation of ADA lift at the northwest corner of the ICC Building, per materials received 21 May 2025, PROVIDED Option 2, which includes cheek walls on the lift, is used for the lift design. No objection to issuance of permit for installation of rooftop equipment, including antennas, antenna equipment, platforms, and an enclosure, per supplemental materials received 14 May 2025. No objection to issuance of permit for rooftop solar installation, per supplemental materials received 5 May 2025 and mockup completed on 17 April 2025 that indicated the panels would not be visible from the public space and all conduit and exterior wall-mounted equipment would be located on the rear elevation. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

The Commission regrets that work was completed without review. No objection to issuance of permit for various front and rear alterations, which include replacement 6/1 single-glaze, true-divided lite windows; replacement doors; replacement siding; replacement sconces; and a new areaway and stoop, per supplemental materials received 2 June 2025 that indicate the fenestration glazing is clear and untinted and without reflective coatings as was stipulated by the Old Georgetown Board. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit to install metal railing at rooftop terrace, repaint the east building wall and add wood lattice at the terrace level, and replace an existing retractable awning with a new striped fabric awning, per supplemental materials received 14 May 2025, PROVIDED existing utility and conduits on the front elevation are relocated to the least visible location. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit to replace the roof with CertainTeed Pro shingles, replace the aluminum flashing with copper, and replace the skylight, per supplemental materials received 10 June 2025 that included typical detail specifications for the proposed copper drip edge and adjacent connections as was required by the Old Georgetown Board. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

The Commission regrets that work commenced without a permit. No objection to issuance of permit to install signage, paint the building, and replace the fascia, per supplemental materials received 10 June 2025 that indicate per the Old Georgetown Board's direction the newly installed balcony fascia board would be reduced in size; the moldings would be installed at the top and bottom of the fascia to match those found on the recently removed fascia board; the sign would be pin-mounted; and the sign letter heights would be 9-inches tall and fit within the moldings. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for rooftop solar installation, per supplemental materials received 28 May 2025 and mockup on 27 May 2025 that indicated the panels as proposed would not be visible from public space; the distance from the rooftop to the top of the panels would be six inches tall; and all conduit and exterior wall-mounted equipment would be installed either on the interior or on the rear elevation, which is not visible from the public way. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

Returned without action. Permit application for an awning with "Rothy's" printed on the valance was withdrawn at the written request of the applicant on 21 May 2025.

No objection to concept design for non-illuminated, flush pin-mounted letter sign reading “Milo & Mav,” installed above the storefront entrance, per supplemental materials received 29 May 2025. File permit submission at DOB with detailed and dimensioned drawings for review by the Commission.

No objection to issuance of permit for halo-lit, pin-mounted letter sign reading "Mejuri" and applied vinyl signage on the storefront glazing, per supplemental materials received 27 May 2025. Internally illuminated box sign inside the storefront was removed from the application due to incompatibility with historic district. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit to install two halo-illuminated signs reading "Swarovski", each 12" tall and installed on white aluminum backer panels mounted through the mortar joints, to the south and east elevations, per supplemental materials received 27 May 2025. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for replacement of existing 6-panel paint-grade wood front door with a 6-panel stain-grade mahogany door, per supplemental materials received 27 May 2025, which indicate the top two panels would be glazed to match existing. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for the installation of an ADA entrance on the fourth floor of Georgetown University's Car Barn at the west elevation of the Graduate Student Quiet Study Lounge, per supplemental materials received 27 May 2025 PROVIDED the new Kawneer glazing matches the glazing on the lounge's existing windows. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to concept design for replacement of existing wood stairs, stone retaining walls, paving, and landscaping in rear yard with new masonry stairs, walls, and paving, per supplemental materials received 29 May 2025. File permit submission at DOB with detailed and dimensioned drawings for review by the Commission.

Returned without action. Permit application for installation of HVAC units was withdrawn at the written request of the applicant on 10 June 2025.

No objection to concept design for window and shutter replacement and fenestration restoration, per supplemental materials received 23 May 2025, PROVIDED the windows are single-glazed and the applicant provide a sample of the proposed Timberlane Endurian shutters as part of the permit application. No objection to issuance of permit for modifications and additions to convert two existing office buildings (1000 & 1050 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW) to mixed-use, per supplemental materials received __ June 2025, PROVIDED a materials mock-up is constructed onsite for approval by the Old Georgetown Board prior to construction. No objection to issuance of permit to replace vehicular and pedestrian doors, add exterior light fixtures, renovate interior of the existing garage, and replace the fence on the southern property line, per supplemental materials received 3 June 2025, which indicate the fountain will be restored and a wood trellis added to the east wall of the garage. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval prior to the issuance of a permit.

No objection to issuance of permit for one non-illuminated sign above center entrance reading, "Victoria's Secret" and fabric awnings over the flanking windows, per supplemental materials received 9 June 2025, which indicate the building will be limewashed and the cornice and brackets painted gray.
