All exterior signs, and all interior signs less than 18 inches from any exterior glazing, are subject to OGB/CFA design review.  In addition, these signs must comply with specific sign regulations for the Old Georgetown historic district in Chapter 12 A, Appendix N of the D.C. Construction Code (click on "View Text").

A complete concept review submission for signs includes, in addition to the basic requirements for a concept review submission, the following documents:

  • one set of current photographs documenting existing conditions
  • scaled and dimensioned site plans, building plans, and building elevations, indicating the location, size, mounting method, and lighting method of all proposed signs, including awnings and window graphics
