Old Post Office, Pennsylvania Avenue

Old Post Office, Pennsylvania Avenue

Originally constructed in 1899 as the central post office in Washington, DC, this landmark building was renovated in the early 1980s after its threatened demolition galvanized the city’s nascent historic preservation movement. The building and its annex was converted to the Trump International Hotel, with the renovation designed by Beyer Blinder Belle, and opened to the public in 2016. The CFA most recently reviewed the project in July 2016.
